1 fatally shot in Davie neighborhood

DAVIE, Fla. – Davie police are investigating a Friday morning shooting that left one person dead.

The shooting was reported just before 8 a.m. in the 3700 block of Southwest 59th Avenue.

A witness told Local 10 News reporter Andrew Perez that she heard two women screaming and then heard two or three gunshots.

“They were screaming like if they were scared,” Isabella Cardona said.

Authorities confirmed that the victim was taken to a local hospital, where they died.

Detectives are talking to neighbors and looking at surveillance cameras, trying to figure out what led up to the shooting in the quiet Davie neighborhood.

Anyone with further information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
