Attempted robbery of a Brinks armored truck resulted in 1 death and 2 injuries

An attempted robbery took place in Oakland, California on Friday. According to the authorities, a Brinks armored truck driver fatally shot a suspect in the robbery.

The police report that one person was killed and three others were hurt during the exchange of gunfire. One of them was a bystander who was not involved.

There was also a Brinks security guard who was hurt in the incident.

On Friday, at about two o’clock in the afternoon local time, the event took place in full daylight.

According to KGO, Oakland city councillor Noel Gallo said that the Brinks employee who shot the accused thief did so in self-defense after being threatened by him.

The other two individuals were transported to local hospitals, although it was unclear whether or not they had been discharged and what their circumstances were at the time.

Gallo claims that additional individuals who were involved in the incident left the site and were not immediately captured by the police.
