Authorities arrested a murder suspect less than 24 hours after the crime

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — According to a press release, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with a homicide that occurred on Jacksonville’s Northside less than 24 hours ago.

In connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday night and claimed the life of a guy in his late teens or early 20s, Brian Antoine Jordan, age 20, was taken into custody on charges of murder and charged in connection with the incident. According to the reports from the police, the incident took place in the 5300 block of Golfbrook Drive at about 7:30 p.m.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department was the one that transported the victim to the hospital after the incident. The medical examiner reportedly confirmed his death soon after that.

According to JSO Public Information Officer Christian Hancock, the investigation made use of evidence gathered by murder and Crime Scene Unit investigators, as well as information that came from the COMM Unity.
