Flagler County authorities took public’s complaints into consideration and installed “no loitering” signs along Interstate 95

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – People who live in Flagler County are fortunate to live in a community where authorities listen to and understand their needs and do everything in their power to find a solution to their problems in the shortest amount of time possible.

This time their suggestions referred to the need for putting up signs in areas where people were observed hanging out, which, in their opinion, affected the safety of both pedestrians and drivers.

Authorities took the public’s suggestions into consideration, and drivers in Flagler County from this point on will notice new signs when entering or exiting the interstate.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with the Florida Department of Transportation, worked to find tools to stop people from hanging out near the interstate and decided to install “no loitering, no soliciting” signs in order to put an end to that kind of behavior.

The signs were installed at locations that were considered the most frequented by persons loitering and/or soliciting on the side of the road, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. Not only does this contribute to increased safety, but the signs will also allow sheriff’s deputies to trespass anyone who is violating the regulations.

The signs were installed at the following locations along I-95: Exit 278 (Old Dixie Highway), Exit 284 (State Road 100), Exit 289 (Palm Coast Parkway), and Exit 293 (Matanzas Woods Parkway).
