Vehicle break-ins at an apartment complex in Port St. Lucie are under investigation

Port St. Lucie, Florida – A vehicle break-in may be a stressful experience, resulting in valuables being stolen as well as damage being done to the vehicle. Break-ins are more than just a loss of property; they are also a serious violation of one’s privacy and may leave a person with a profound feeling of insecurity.

The best way to avoid being a victim of this type of crime is not to keep valuables inside the vehicle, or at least, if you have to keep them inside, make sure they are hidden in places where they can’t be seen.

An apartment complex was the scene of over a dozen vehicle break-ins. The incident took place on Monday night at the Reserve apartment complex in Port St. Lucie.

Deputies from the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at around 7 a.m. on Tuesday. Deputies said there was shattered glass all over the ground when they arrived at the scene. The initial investigation showed that a total of 17 vehicles at the apartment complex were broken into.

As part of their investigation, deputies talked to the vehicle owners, who said that they didn’t hear anything while the crooks were breaking into their vehicles the previous night. Many of them also said that besides the damage to their vehicles, the thieves did not steal any valuables. One of the residents in the apartment complex even said they had presents in the vehicle that remained untouched.

Although the sheriff’s office did not reveal whether valuables were stolen from the vehicles, they said the residents were visibly disturbed by the incident and are asking if anyone might have information that would be helpful in the investigation to give them a call.
