10-year-old hospitalized after being bitten by dog in Fort Lauderdale
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A child was taken to the hospital on Tuesday night in Fort Lauderdale for treatment after being bitten by a dog.
The dog was placed in an animal control vehicle.
The youngster, who was 10 years old, allegedly received bites to the face and neck from the dog.
The event took place inside of a structure located in the 1400 block of Northwest 2nd Street.
Even though the authorities said the child’s injuries were not serious, the child was sent to Broward Health Medical Center for further evaluation.
The younger sibling of the youngster gave an interview to Local 10 News. His mother was in the hospital with his brother when he was admitted.
“The dog tried to bite him in his face so he got like scratches or wounds on his face,” he said. Other than that, he got minor scratches on his wrist. A place like this for a wild dog like that, that’s dangerous.”
Despite statements that a witness shot the dog, there were no reports of any injuries.
