4 SUNsational Awards go to the City of Coral Springs

Coral Springs, Florida – The Florida Festivals and Events Association awarded the City of Coral Springs two SUNsational awards each for 2021 and 2020.
According to a press release, there are three different budget levels and 20 different categories. A panel including people such as media outlets, printing companies, website designers, and photographers, among others, judges the awards.
For 2021, Coral Springs won second place in the Photo Opportunity Area category for the Downtown In December Tree Lighting and third place in Event Photo for the Coral Springs Holiday Drive-Thru Experience.
For 2020, Artoberfest took second place in Event Photo and third place in a promotional mailer.
There were over 400 submissions from 50 different organizations and people for the SUNsational Awards.
According to Alexander Falcone, Director of Emergency Management and Special Events, that despite the challenges due to COVID-19, the city persisted and gave residents meaningful events.
“During the COVID-19 pandemic, regardless of the challenges faced, the city’s events team worked hard to reimagine events for the community,” he said in the press release. “These awards honor the dedication and creativity of the staff members who plan and host these events for our residents.”
“This year, in particular, was incredibly rewarding as we showcased the innovation and resilience of festival and event organizers throughout the state during this unprecedented time,” in the press release, FFEA CEO Suzanne Neve said.
