Well-known Christmas theme park relocating again in northwest Miami-Dade
MEDLEY, Fla. – Santa’s Enchanted Forest, a well-known Christmas theme park in South Florida, is now undergoing expansion.
After one season at Hialeah Park, the annual event is being relocated once again to make room for condos and a school.
“Everything is bigger, more parking, more rides, a whole new design, and the animated displays,” said park spokesperson Maritza Gutierrez.
The organizers were able to find all of that space on Northwest 87th Avenue and 74th Street, which is exactly where Medley meets Doral.
Crews have already begun constructing an area larger than 30 football fields.
“Asphalt, trees, putting up lights, this is virgin territory land that needs to be all constructed to the magic of what you’re going to experience,” Gutierrez said.
On the other hand, the Medley landfill and the waste-to-energy plant are two things that are impossible to miss. The landfill is located on one side, while the plant is located on the other.
Doral residents have expressed concerns about this location in the past.
Santa’s Enchanted Forest crews assert that they have done their research and inspected the location, and they are convinced that there won’t be any problems.
“Operations usually take place during the day, and that’s where there may be some issues, but we’re only open at night,” said Gutierrez.
The new site layout and plans are being kept secret and will not be discussed publicly until further notice.
The doors of Santa’s will open earlier than usual, with opening night set for the 9th of November.
