Man responsible for MMA fighter’s death in 2017 got three consecutive terms of life in prison
PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — A man has been found guilty of first-degree murder in connection with the death of a local mixed martial arts fighter that took place in the Boca Raton area in 2017.
In connection with the fatal house invasion that took place on July 3, 2017, at the residence of mixed martial arts fighter Aaron Rajman, 25, Roberto Ortiz, age 23, was sentenced to three consecutive terms of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
About two months after the murder, Ortiz and two others were arrested and charged with Rajman’s murder.
Summer Church, who was just 16 years old at the time of the crime, and Jace Swinton, who was 18 years old at the time of the crime, were the other two individuals.
In July of 2019, a jury convicted both Swinton and Church of murder in the second degree and handed each of them a sentence of ten years in prison.
