Authorities detained a student suspected of making a school shooting threat
HOMESTEAD, Fla. – Authorities have confirmed that a student was held for questioning on Thursday as a result of threats that were reportedly made targeting a school in Homestead.
Officers visited classroom to classroom at Keys Gate Charter School to search for any firearms that could be on campus before placing the school in lockdown mode.
The male student who is suspected of making the threat has been identified and apprehended by the Homestead police department. It has been confirmed by the police that no weapon has been located.
There was a gathering of around one hundred parents visible outside the school, which has since been given the all clear.
