New Covid-19 vaccination sites coming to Coral Springs
Coral Springs, Florida – As a new Covid-19 vaccination site for people 65 and older opens in Coral Springs this week, City Manager Frank Babinec said Tuesday more sites will open in the city in the coming months.
At a morning meeting with business owners, Babinec said the new site at Coral Square Mall, run by the Florida Department of Health, will vaccinate as many as 1,000 people a day once it’s up and running.
After that, Babinec expects Coral Springs to get more sites operating as more doses are available. He didn’t say where the additional sites could open.
“This isn’t the end of our vaccine sites in Coral Springs,” he said at the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce meeting, referring to the mall site opening on Wednesday. “I’m hoping we’ll have more sites in the city very shortly.”
In addition to public vaccination sites, inoculations will also eventually be offered at Publix, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Costco, CVS, and Walgreens in cities across Florida, including Coral Springs, state officials said.
The new vaccination site at Coral Square Mall at 9469 W. Atlantic Boulevard will be open Monday through Friday, by appointment only. Make appointments at www.browardcovidvaccine.com.
On Monday, Broward Health announced a new public vaccination site in Fort Lauderdale.
