Authorities investigating a shooting that left a woman dead and a man injured
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, a woman was killed and a man is in serious condition after a shooting at a business complex near Gate Parkway on Thursday.
The officers were in the parking lot filing an unrelated report at 2:11 p.m. when they heard many gunshots in the 5100 block of Burnt Mill Road, according to the JSO.
The cops reacted to the sound of gunfire and discovered a woman and a man lying in the grass with gunshot wounds.
The responding officers rendered aid and contacted the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, according to the police.
According to authorities, the pair were brought to a local hospital, where the woman eventually died from her injuries.
JSO reports that the site was promptly secured and a search of the surrounding area was conducted. During the search, a gun was discovered.
The police are trying to identify the man and the woman.
