Broward County man won $1 million playing the Mega Millions game

DANIA BEACH, Fla. – Officials with the Florida Lottery have confirmed that a man from Broward County won one million dollars while playing the Mega Millions game and that he claimed his reward last week.

Officials from the lottery say that Shmuel Febles, 56, from Hollywood, bought his winning ticket at the Exxon gas station in Dania Beach, which can be found at 3991 Stirling Road.

As a reward for selling the winning ticket, the company will earn a $1,000 extra commission.

The official results of the lottery show that Febles’ ticket for the drawing that took place on July 26 matched all five of the white ball numbers chosen, but it did not match the number drawn for the Mega Ball.

According to a statement released by the Florida Lottery, “Since joining MEGA MILLIONS in 2013, the game has generated more than $938 million for education and awarded more than $835 million in prizes to 68 million players.”
