Campaign rally held by Jacksonville mayoral candidate
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Daniel Davis, CEO of the JAX Chamber and a candidate for mayor, held a rally on Thursday to officially launch his campaign.
Tom Nehl Truck Company, which is situated at 417 Edgewood Avenue South, served as the site for the event.
Davis signed up as a Republican with the Duval County Supervisor of Elections at the beginning of this month.
Florida Politics says that Davis is doing better in the polls than several official candidates and making a lot of money for his political committee at the same time.
According to his JAXChamber website profile, Daniel was given the position as President and CEO of the chamber in the year 2013. Daniel served as the executive director of the Northeast Florida Builders Association before he started working for the Chamber of Commerce.
Daniel has served in the past on the City Council of Jacksonville, and in 2007 he was elected to the position of President of the Council. In addition to that, he was a member of the state legislature for a period of four years, serving as the representative for District 15, which is located in Duval County.
