Chase on water in Miami resulted in arrest of a personal watercraft driver
MIAMI – After a chase that took place on the water in Miami, a guy has been brought into custody by the police.
Just after 5:50 p.m. on Saturday, officers from the City of Miami Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a driver of a personal watercraft who was illegally picking up and dropping off clients at an undesignated area near Albert Pallot Park. According to the City of Miami Police, the driver was engaged in this activity.
According to the investigation, the driver of the personal watercraft took off when a unit of the Miami Police Marine Patrol turned on the lights and sirens on their boat.
According to the police, the suspect was moving at a fast rate of speed and was putting the safety of other boats on the Intracoastal Waterway in jeopardy.
According to the officials, the Marine Patrol unit was able to catch up with the personal watercraft close to Pace Picnic Island. At that point, the person driving the PWC is said to have jumped off and started running through the island.
The officers were finally successful in apprehending the driver of the vehicle.
The investigators said a review of his record found that there was a warrant for his arrest.
