Department of Justice issued subpoenas to more than thirty individuals connected to Trump in Jan. 6 investigation
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has taken numerous phones from key advisors and issued subpoenas to about forty people related to former President Donald Trump.
A report in the New York Times said that the actions, which are now public, show that the investigation into the uprising that happened on January 6, 2021, and Trump’s alleged attempts to overturn the presidential election that happened in 2020, has taken a big step forward.
According to CNN’s reporting, former campaign managers for President Trump, Bill Stepien and Sean Dollman, are among the individuals now under investigation by the Department of Justice (DOJ). Both individuals worked for the Trump 2020 presidential campaign, but neither has replied to calls for comment on the matter.
According to a story in the Times, federal officials armed with search warrants took a phone from Boris Epshteyn, who worked as an attorney coordinating Trump’s legal operations. The phone was taken from Epshteyn last week.
According to the Times, agents also took a phone from Mike Roman, a campaign strategist who served as head of election day operations for Trump’s 2020 campaign. The phone belonged to Roman, who worked for Trump’s 2020 campaign.
In one week, more than thirty people were each given a subpoena as part of the DOJ’s ongoing investigation.
