Downtown Coral Springs development to start building in coming weeks
Coral Springs, Florida – After the old Coral Springs Financial Plaza is gone, the rubble around the building is cleared.
In the coming weeks’ construction will finally start on the long-planned Cornerstone development at the corner of University Drive and Sample Road in Coral Springs.
According to the city’s economic development director Kristi Bartlett, Wednesday the retail, hotel, residential and commercial complex, developed by Boca Raton-based Predeso Property Investments, is on track to go “vertical.”
The developer is fielding interest from prospective tenants, Bartlett said.
“A lot of tenants are reaching out to them, potential tenants, so we hope to start making announcements about those as they sign on,” Bartlett said. “So that’s really good news.”
According to city officials and developer Rod Sheldon, hotel chain Hyatt Place and a 100,000-square-feet medical complex have committed to the complex.
The complex will have 352 luxury apartments, 125 hotel rooms, eight restaurants/pubs, entertainment-related businesses, and roughly 200,000-square-feet of office space.
According to officials, Cornerstone is aiming to complete the rental units by the start of summer 2023, and the construction of the hotel – which will feature a rooftop bar – will likely start in 2024.
