DUI charges filed against ex-Jaguars player Will Richardson
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — According to the court documents, former Jaguars offensive lineman Will Richardson was arrested on charges of driving under the influence on Friday in St. Johns County.
He was taken into custody at 2:42 in the morning on Friday, and he was released at 1:41 in the afternoon of the same day.
This event took place two days after Richardson was let go from his position with the Jaguars.
The NC State school paper, the Technician, reported in 2015 that Richardson, then 26 years old, was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol in Raleigh, North Carolina, while he was still a member of the NC State football team.
Richardson was just 19 years old at the time of his arrest for driving while under the influence of alcohol in North Carolina, which is a crime that may be committed by drivers under the age of 21 if there is any detectable level of alcohol in their blood stream.
According to the Associated Press, at the time of the incident, Head Coach Dave Doeren made the announcement that Richard would be banned from the team for “violating undisclosed team rules.”
