Florida reports 3,263 new COVID-19 cases and 48 resident deaths Tuesday

Florida’s health department confirmed 3,263 more COVID-19 cases Tuesday and another 48 resident deaths connected to the virus.

It comes a day after the state reported 2,296 new cases, the smallest daily increase since April 12.

Florida has now verified 2,275,365 COVID-19 cases since the outbreak began.

There have been 35,831 resident deaths, according to the latest health department data. Another 716 non-residents have died in Florida from COVID-19.

Coronavirus-related deaths reported in the past day include 14 in Miami-Dade County and four in Palm Beach County.

There have been 92,348 resident hospitalizations attributed to the novel coronavirus in the state.

At least 9,350,957 people have received COVID-19 vaccines in Florida, with 7,156,797 people in the state fully vaccinated.

The statewide positivity rate for yesterday’s testing was 5%.

Worldwide, the number of COVID-19 cases reported is over 159 million. There have been more than 3.3 million deaths attributed to the pandemic globally, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

The United States has confirmed over 32 million cases and has had more than 582,000 deaths from COVID-19, the highest totals in the world.
