Fundraiser for family of a Florida Wildlife Conservation investigator killed in an accident will take place Tuesday
OKEECHOBEE, Fla. — At the Okeechobee Agricultural Civic Center on Tuesday, a fundraiser will be held to raise money for Florida Wildlife Conservation Senior Investigator Kyle Patterson’s wife and their two young children.
On June 9, a motorist from Tampa who was just 24 years old struck Patterson, who was 35 years old, head-on at the intersection of Okeechobee Road and South Header Canal Road in Fort Pierce.
Patterson and the other motorist, a woman, both died as a result of the accident.
Members of the state’s police enforcement marched in procession with Patterson’s body to Christ Fellowship Church in Port St. Lucie after he died.
After the end of the memorial ceremony, Patterson was taken back to his birthplace of Christmas, Florida, where he was laid to rest.
At the Junior Florida Cattlemen’s Association Cattle Battle Show that will take place on Tuesday, there will be a raffle with more than 30 items.
Those who are interested in purchasing raffle tickets do not have to be physically present to have a chance of winning prizes.
