Indian River State College offering free tuition through the Promise Program to eligible graduates

SEBASTIAN, Fla. — Indian River State College has unofficially made a promise of further free education to high school students who will be graduating on the Treasure Coast.

The official announcement will likely take place in front of students at Sebastian River High School later today.

Students who have graduated from high school in the counties of Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, and Okeechobee will have the opportunity to get an associate’s degree tuition-free.

The initiative is called the Promise Program. Students make a promise that they will keep their grade point average at or above 2.0 while they are enrolled in classes full-time. The IRSC Foundation manages the Promise Program using money from the generous contributions of donors as well as unrestricted investment earnings.

In order for students to be eligible, they need to ensure that they meet all of the admissions deadlines.
