Lauderhill man arrested after threatening ‘shootout’ at Fort Lauderdale airport
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Authorities said that on Tuesday morning, investigators with the Broward Sheriff’s Office arrested a man from Lauderhill who had threatened to start a gunfight at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
According to the findings of the investigation, Datron Devonne Roscoe, 37 years old, called the Broward County Regional Communications Emergency Dispatch at approximately 12:30 in the morning and reported that there was going to “be a big gunfight shootout at the airport” and that “there’s going to be a lot of gun fire call everybody.”
In response to the investigation, deputies from the BSO and detectives from the Threat Management Unit arrived.
After being discovered at Terminal 4, Roscoe was brought into custody by the authorities. It was concluded that there was no basis for the threat.
Roscoe is currently being held at the BSO Main Jail. His arrest records show that he is being charged with one count of false reporting involving the use of a handgun and one count of abuse of 911.
The investigation is still going on at this time.
