Man fatally shot in DeSoto County following political argument

On Saturday, October 22, 2022, a person was stabbed to death in Arcadia, and the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office is looking into the incident.

At the time of the shooting, the suspect, 36-year-old Donald Jamesbrown Henry, and the victim were reportedly engaged in a debate at Henry’s residence on Southwest Shores Avenue about Donald Trump.

First responders found the victim, Shawn Popp, who was subsequently determined to be deceased.

Henry has been charged with one count of murder in the second degree, and his next court appearance is scheduled for the 28th of November, 2022.
