Miami organizations spread cheer on Christmas Day and give hope to those in need
Miami, Florida – Christmas is a time of celebration, giving, sharing, spending time with loved ones, and spreading love and cheer. Many of us also exchange gifts for this occasion as a way to show appreciation for one another. It is simply a time to come together and celebrate the many blessings of the holiday season.
But there are some people who find it hard to make ends meet, struggling to even provide food on their tables, and who do not have much to be grateful for. So there are organizations that are working to make sure no one is forgotten and remind them that someone cares about them, giving them some hope.
Two Miami organizations decided to spread holiday cheer on Christmas Day and give back to the community. One of the organizations, Camillus House, that serves the hungry, the homeless, and the forgotten of Miami-Dade County throughout the year, will today hold the annual Christmas lunch for those in need. But this year it will be slightly different than others since they’ve decided to expand the event and serve 75 additional people due to the cold weather in the area.
The second organization that will also spread holiday cheer on Christmas Day is the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. They will provide meals to those in need at the Salvation Army Kitchen, which is located at 1907 Northwest 38th Street.
And last but not least are the children admitted to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. No matter whether they celebrate Christmas or Hanukkah, every patient will receive some of the toys the hospital collected during the event called Spread the Joy Toy Drive at the beginning of December.
