No battles yet in next Coral Springs City Commission election
Coral Springs, Florida – So far, there are no battles for the three open seats in the next Coral Springs City Commission election.
It’s just the incumbents who have filed to regain their seats in the Nov. 8, 2022, municipal election – at least most of them, according to the city clerk’s office.
Mayor Scott Brook’s seat is up. And he’s already filed to run again. It’s a two-year term.
Vice Mayor Joshua Simmons’ seat is also up. And he, too, has filed to run again for his seat. It’s a four-year term.
And the seat occupied by Commissioner Shawn Cerra is up as well. Cerra hasn’t filed for the seat. It’s a four-year term as well.
There are no campaign treasury reports yet from the two candidates.
June 13 the qualifying period to run in the election begins and ends June 17.
