Powerball ticket purchased in California wins a record $2.04 billion jackpot

A single Powerball ticket purchased in the state of California has won the world record jackpot of $2.04 billion.

According to the California Lottery, the winning ticket was purchased at Joe’s Service Center in Altadena, which is located around 15 miles outside of the Downtown Los Angeles area.

After lottery officials reported a delay the previous evening, the winning Powerball numbers were finally revealed the next morning, on Tuesday. The winning numbers were 10, 33, 41, 47, and 56, and the Powerball was 10.

According to Powerball, the California Lottery will provide further details on the winning ticket in the next few days.

The last winning Powerball ticket was drawn on Aug. 3 by a lucky Pennsylvanian.
