Stoneman Douglas Girls Soccer Team Wins District Championship

PARKLAND, FL- The Stoneman Douglas girls’ soccer team defeated Coral Glades High School to win the district championship by a score of 4-0 on Monday evening.
The shutout improved the Lady Eagles’ record to 6-2 on the season.
Goals were scored by Kendall Slack, Francesca Lozano, Alexis Reigel, and Mia Engelbart. Goalie Carly Brodsky and defenders Samantha Novik, Calista McCausland, Lizzie Sheehy, Vicky Alvarez, and Francesca Lozano helped keep a clean sheet for the Lady Eagles.
“Coral Glades played well and had an excellent game plan, making it very tough for us to score,” said Douglas coach Laura Rountree. “We were fortunate to finally put a few in and to be advancing in the regional playoffs.”
Stoneman Douglas next plays Park Vista of Lake Worth in a regional playoff game at home on Tuesday, February 16.
