Woman arrested after crashing car into front of home in Miami Beach
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – An Illinois woman was arrested Monday night after she crashed a car into the front of a home in Miami Beach.
Haley White, 22, was arrested on one count of leaving the scene of a crash resulting in property damage.
The incident occurred along West Avenue and 14th Terrace.
“Basically, I just saw this car flying down the road. I look in my rear view mirror and see her jump air,” a man who witnessed the crash said. “She starts going toward me because she lost control and when I swerved, she swerved with me.”
According to her arrest report, officers arrived at the scene to find a black Audi in the front yard of the home.
Police said several witnesses said they saw a woman wearing a tank top and blue leggings get out of the vehicle and walk away from the scene after the crash.
Police said officers canvassed the area and found White near 1422 Bay Road. They said she matched the description of the suspect provided by witnesses and also had blood on her face.
Two separate show-ups were conducted with witnesses, who identified White as the driver of the Audi.
Police said the crash resulted in about $10,000 worth of property damage, including damage to a City of Miami Beach concrete light pole.
